Publishing Terms for Beginners: J & K

Since there aren't an abundance of J and K words used in publishing, I'm combining the two in this month's post in my A-Z series of Publishing Terminology.

Job lot - discounted paper, most likely not great quality.

Justify - the alignment of text with both margins (as opposed to left, right or centered).

Kerning - the adjustment of spacing between letters in a printed work.

Keyword - an important word or phrase that is input so that online search engines and databases can find all related results.

Kill Fee - a payment made to an author or illustrator when a publisher cancels a project (dependent on contract and circumstances, of course).

Can you think of any other publishing term that start with the letters J or K? Do you have any questions about these terms, or any others? Share your suggestions and questions in the comments below.
